don't know how long this is going to last but I think I have figured it out how to solve the time problem for the moment: I have stumbled across rdate Manually changing the date, resolves the vpn connectivity problem but without a way to get the correct time after a restart this becomes a very annoying problem. It's worked.

If I make a change here the clock in windows is changed but turn the laptop off for 10 minutes and it will revert to the time I changed it to I have also tried to manually set the time with auto-update off and it continues to not show the correct time. One more thing. I always wonder who takes time to upload information like this but I am always thankful they do.

Sum it up, we bounce between 4G/3G/Wi-Fi 24/7 and it's driving us insane because we can't depend on the devices for Alarm clocks.
