As I understand it, the whole "hold down the power button to kill the power" thing is built in to motherboards. I can envisage two scenarios where this might be an issue: You dont want unauthorised users shutting down the machine by any means - in which case physically secure the machine i even tried to change to other power plans like balanced or high performance and manually change the advanced option for close the lid & power button and they too only But first I liked too see what's possible with software and the OS.
